Many thanks for arranging the rooms for us for our quiz night last Friday and for letting us use the breakfast room. Everybody who attended thoroughly enjoyed a very plentiful and tasty meal. In fact it was that good that the start the quiz was delayed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the premises were very clean. "Thumbs Up for Excellent Value"

Having had one beach holiday earlier in the year, my husband and I booked the Agapinor specifically because it was 'in the town' and more to the point, it fitted our budget. We thought it would be a good base to 'explore' Cyprus rather than laze around on the beach.
The holiday k.o. badly as we were held up - without explanation - at Manchester and although I had emailed the hotel a few days earlier I didn't hold out much hope for the taxi to be waiting for us 4 hours late! It WAS (could have kissed the driver and 'Caroline' for arranging it) we very quickly got to the hotel around 2 a.m. and there was nothing going on, almost deathly quiet in the hotel and surrounding areas (but you clever tripees had already warned of this so we had hastily picked up some provisions at the airport). The night receptionist was a man of few words but the check in was one of the quickest and smoothest I had ever experienced...within 5 minutes he had given us a key, to room 223 explained about air con and told us where we could get breakfast!
Our room was on the road side - no surprise as we didn't pay to upgrade. We noticed there was no noise from any traffic (later appreciating the road side even more as it was not in direct sunlight, and was therefore, cooler to sit on in afternoon and once the door was closed it was very well insulated from any noise. I would not describe the room as 'basic' by any means. 'Basic' to me is a couple of beds, bare floors and a couple of rickety bedside tables. This was not the case. The room was certainly not small, was very clean, nicely carpeted with an abundance of sturdy mahogany drawers, cupboards, a writing table and chairs, a biggish t.v. and (although hate to admit it we watched a couple of really good movies when we were too tired after the days events and too overfull from the evening meal to be bothered venturing out!!!!) Everything worked! It was far better than anticipated. The shower did the job - no power shower - but Cyprus is experiencing very severe water shortages and we were more than happy to 'do our bit' to conserve water wherever possible. The beds - as people have said - were hard. I think my husband described it like "sleeping on an ironing board" however, the mattresses were spotless and as the week progressed we got more and more used to the beds. For that reason have given the sleep quality a 4 star - the blackout curtains, air con and sound insulation from the roadside meant we often slept through breakfast!
Talking of food we really couldn't complain about anything. If we didn't like something we picked something we did like!
We booked on a half board basis, mainly because half board seemed such good value. We were not convinced a half board basis would suit our rather spontaneous and impromtu natures and generally felt we would probably 'try' the evening meal...but for the majority of time, do our own thing! What actually happened was that we enjoyed the meal so much the first evening we were looking forward to the second and it got so that we were looking forward to seeing what was on offer each evening (we didn't eat out once) If you love meat as much as my husband does you will love the food. All meat was done to perfection with no fat and very large portions of it. I loved the salads also and the soups were very tasty also. We also found all staff very helpful - must mention Victoria and Hazel (who willingly answered my numerous questions about Cyprus) and also the Romanian barman David who was always cheerful and efficient. There were lots more, of course, two excellent male receptionists and our lovely room maid did an excellent job. Thanks one and all.
To sum up we had a really good holiday and did manage to go out and about a lot despite very high temperatures - we loved the trip to Troodos on a jeep which was cooler and took us off up winding dirt tracks seeing numerous villages and a lunch which was all you could eat Cyprus buffet (amazing variety) washed down with local red/white wine, fruit juices and water and also liked just getting on the buses! We also walked LOTS!
We would recommend Cyprus (seems very safe) and we would recommend this hotel - maybe not to people who want a beach on the doorstep or to young ones who want lots of night life on the doorstep. For us it fine and we met lots of interesting people in the hotel who we had such a laugh with. For the record not ONE of the other guests I spoke with had any complaints about the hotel, amenities, staff or food!

I would just like to say if I may how much I enjoyed staying at you hotel. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming I really enjoyed my stay it is just a shame I had to come back. My wife Helen and I recently (4/3/08-25/3/08) spent three unforgettable weeks in the Agapinor.

From the very first minute we entered the lobby and met Jac and then Hazel who gave us all the info re our stay, we were completely taken over by the whole ambiance of the hotel.

Every-body including our special waitress Sanguita and our special maid Anfisa did everything to make our stay a truly lovely holiday, AND to mark my 70th birthday I was flabbergasted on that day to find that a basket of fruit and a bottle of wine was placed in our room for me by the management.

What a very nice gesture, and so unexpected.

As he was ALWAYS around Jack was obviously the key to everything that anybody required and we wish him well in his marriage and prosperity in his life.

Because of the excellent food and the atmosphere in the hotel, to say nothing of our room, overlooking the pool and right down to the sea, the castle and the tops of the masts in the harbour, we were overjoyed with our holiday and would hope to return one day.

Excellent room service, reception service, bar service and superb dining, our compliments to the chef and his staff. When my wife fainted in restaurant the speed of response was breath taking, the doctor was there as my wife was coming round. " I think within ten minutes". This is a superb response, had it been a life threatening problem a customers life could be saved by such a response. The kindness of the staff afterwards is a credit to the hotel. For a three star hotel it has five star staff.

I would hope to return in the future and will certainly recommend the Agapinor Hotel to all my contacts coming to Cyprus. "Having just returned from a great holiday at your Hotel, we would like to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay.

The Agapinor hotel was welcoming and comfy, the staff friendly and helpful, our room was kept spotlessly clean and the food was excellent. There was so much choice at dinner and the food was always hot and delicious. The same can be said for breakfast and always so much fresh fruit available.

It was my husband's 70th birthday on the day we arrived and noted from his passport by reception and he had a lovely surprise with the wine and fruit you had placed in the room on the following day. Thank you so much for this.

It was our first visit to Cyprus and you made the holiday very memorable and we hope to see you again in the near future."

The entertainment was good and on our last night you had a young boy playing and singing and I was told he was on a trail if I was you I would grab him he was very good.
